I love fandom with all my heart, but it is quite confusing in this regard. Also, at least with Rose, there's a part of you that understands, because come on, if we were taken to the time and place where a parent dies accidentally, wouldn't you TRY to save them? It's instinct, pure and simple.
And as for Rose falling in love with the Doctor, I think it's also safe to say that the Doctor fell in love with Rose as well. :)
